ORAL HISTORY

One of the main objectives of the Cuban Family History and Genealogy Project is to

promote the recording and preservation of oral histories within the family unit.

Oral history is the recording of living relatives’ recollections about their life

experiences. Oral history depends upon human memory and the spoken word,

enables people whose stories and recollections might have been forgotten to be

heard, and serves as an excellent method of recording their relatives’ personal life

experiences.

As part of our educational and outreach programs and seminars there will be oral

history “how to” and training modules. Please visit our Educational Outreach

Programs section to see upcoming schedule of events.

On a temporary loan basis, seminar participants will be able to "checkout"

portable Sony audio devices to record relatives life experiences.
