OBJECTIVES

• To encourage the study of Cuban family history and genealogy.

• To collect, index, preserve, publish and make accessible any relevant
bibliography, reference materials, documents and records.

• To promote the preservation of such records.

• To promote and assist those interested in genealogical and family research by
means of lectures, conferences, presentations, publications and other community
outreach programs.

• To provide specialized genealogical research, coordinate field documentation
projects, and consulting services to community organizations, scholars, educators,
and others interested in promoting Cuban family history and genealogy.

• To foster and encourage the development of sound genealogical methods in
documenting family histories.

• To promote the documentation in written and oral form the history of the Cuban
family as it concerns itself with memories, folklife, life experiences and ethnic or
regional traditions of everyday life.

• To cooperate with private and public organizations, cultural and educational
institutions and international organizations having mutual interest in the
preservation and promotion of family history.

• To maintain and strengthen relations with archivists, historians, librarians and
educators.
